Description: 14th November is the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and is celebrated as Children’s Day all over India to increase awareness among people about rights and education of children. Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Loreto Convent Tara Hall. The auditorium of Gonzaga Block was decorated with multicolored paints, colorful balloons and other decorative materials by the teachers.
The teachers prepared a solemn prayer service for the children and blessed them with their love. The prayer service was followed by a prayer dance and then a Punjabi dance. The teachers also prepared a short skit for the students that taught them never to part with their values.
The cultural programme was followed by a special programme for children. Special guests were invited to participate in a panel discussion on the topic, “Increase in number of old age homes-where are we going wrong.”
The programme ended with a jam session where the students danced with enthusiasm to the tunes of melodious songs sung in English, Punjabi and Pahari. The children went home happy and content after having lived a day full of happiness.
